We at Drake-Scruggs often have inventory specials listed on our site. Our current inventory special is the Auto Crane Titan 38 Body and HC-7 NexStar III Service Crane on a 2016 Ram 5500 truck. This strong features tons of storage for tools and equipment, a 20-inch work bench bumper with skid plates so you won’t slip while climbing up into the truck or bucket, an enclosed tool chest, compressor and more.
The Body Configuration
The body construction for an 84-inch CA chassis holds a 38,000 foot-pound crane body and features a sturdy interlocking structural sub-frame. The 11-foot body length allows for plenty of storage cabinets, including a tool chest enclosed in a side cabinet for easy access to hand tools. The side packs are 22 inches deep so you’ll be able to store larger equipment inside, rather than carry it outside where the weather can get it or where it could grow legs and walk away.
The 50-inch wide cargo floor features six integrated tie downs that are rated at 900 pounds each. Compartments feature double panel galvanneal steel doors with 10-gauge outer panels and 14-gauge inner panels. The door hinges are on the inside of the doors and are stainless steel to resist tempering and rusting. The truck features a full-length integral body rain gutter and the bulkhead is recessed to protect the hydraulic tank.

The Crane Package
The crane is a model HC-7 hydraulic crane with the NexStar III system. This 38,000 foot-pound capacity crane has a maximum lift of 7,000 pounds and extends to 20 feet. The crane also features a power hoist, power boom elevation of 14 to 75 degrees and 370-degree power rotation. The NexStar III crane features automatic overload protection fro the boom extend, hoist up and boom down operations.
Management systems include an LCD receiver and readout on a controller, proportional control, a transmitter cradle, pistol grip with thumb tip control for all functions, hydraulic in/out and up/down outriggers and a crane boom support.
The Air Compressor Package
Never be without air again. This truck features an Auto Crane AC-40 hydraulic air compressor, which is mounted on the top left side pack. The compressor puts out 40 cfm at 100 psi and features a 20-gallon air reservoir that is mounted under the body. The air hose reel comes with 50 feet of ½-inch air hose and includes filter / lube / regulator.
